  • Received the Award for Best Minister of Finance of the Year in the Middle East in Washington in October 2004 at the time of the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank. The Award was offered by Euromoney magazine's Emerging Markets newspaper.
  • Identified as the Finance Minister of the Year in the Middle East in 2010 (Best Finance Minister). He has been considered by the Banker Magazine as one of those that have been integral to their countries’ recoveries from various financial crises.
